Salutare,

Deschid acest topic pentru ca am inceput constructia unor brake dusts (pentru franele fata) si ma gandesc ca, poate aceste informatii sunt de folos si altor colegi (mai ales pt cei care au G5/G6 sau masini pe aceeasi platforma si cu discuri de minim 288mm )...
Am inceput de ceva timp contructia dar mai am ceva pana la final. Avand in vedere ca e voie sa postam doar 10 poze per post voi avea mai multe posturi.

Idee este sa aduc aer din fata, de la grila farului de ceata pana in interiorul discului (avand in vedere ca sunt discuri ventilate).
Vreau o solutie eficienta dar si estetica (altfel era cu mult mai simplu).

Bun... deci precum spuneam vreau ca aerul sa vina din spatele grilei farului de ceata. Aici am putin noroc pentru ca am grilele RLine si acestea au un capac in spatele lor. Astfel, o solutie eleganta e sa fac o gaura in aceste grile si sa montez air inlet-urile:

Asta pentru ca, aceasta solutie nu imi place deloc:

Si pentru partea cealalta, vreau ca aerul sa ajunga la vanes pentru ca aerul sa raceasca ambele parti ale discului...
Ca si model aveam ceva de genul:

La toate discurile aerul pentru racire este luat de la butucul rotii (centrul discului) si este scos pe la extremitatea cealalta:

Discurile mele sunt ventilate dar venele nu sunt directionale asa ca sunt mai putin eficiente... Daca aveti discuri directionale atunci brake ducts-urile vor aduce un avantaj si mai mare (pentru ca se creaza o zona de presiune scazuta in partea dinspre centrul discului).

Cam asta era planul si urmeaza sa revin cu mai multe detalii cat mai repede...

Bun, si sa continuam....

Acum ceva timp am avut drum prin Bucuresti, pe langa Racing Nick si stiind ca are furtune pentru frana am decis sa intru si sa vad ce au. Mi-a placut ce am vazut si am luat 3m de furtun (1.5 pentru fiecare parte) si capetele (air inlet-urile) pentru acest furtun:

In Cluj, am dat jos roata pentru a vedea cum si unde as putea fixa air intel-ul:

Dupa cum puteti vedea in poza de mai sus, teoretic, furtunul s-ar putea fixa in 2 pozitii: deasupra senzorului de ABS/Viteza sau sub acest senzor.
Din pacate, daca furtunul e pozitionat sub senzorul de ABS/Viteza, sunt probleme la bracarea rotilor (furtunul atinge componentele suspensiei). Asa ca, singura varianta este deasupra senzorului. Asa ceva (furtunul are 51mm, nu cred ca o dimensiune mai mare a furtunului incape...):

Avand la dispozitie o fuzeta (mersi Stefan) si rulment, disc, am inceput lucrul:

Avand in vedere ca, din punctul meu de vedere, aerul trebuie sa ajunga doar la canalele pentru racire (ventilatie), air inlet-ul din ultima poza trebuia adaptat:

La acest pas mi-am dat seama ca am nevoie de aparatoarea de praf/noroi din spatele discului. Asa ca am cumparat niste aparatori...
Air inlet-urile vor fi fixate de aceste aparatori (in prealabil gaurite). Cam asa ar trebui sa fie:

Si aici e aparatoarea si marcajele pentru taiere:
- rosu: aceasta parte trebuie taiata pentru a permite aerului sa intre
- verde: aceasta suprafata trebuie "nivelata" (nervurile sunt in relief) pentru a permite fixarea corespunzatoare a air inlet-ului.
- albastru: aceasta e limita air inlet-ului

Si am mai dat inca o data jos roata pentru a vedea pe unde sa fac traseul furtunului.
Din cate am vazut sunt 2 posibilitati:
- rosu: imediat deasupra bratului inferior al suspensiei (daca merge pe aici nu trebuie sa fac nici o gaura)
- albastru: daca nu merge varianta "rosu" trebuie sa duc furtunul pe sus si sa fac o gaura aparatoare de noroi din interiorul aripii

Bun, si ca sa ajungem la zi....
Ieri, impreuna cu Steffan (care a facut mare parte din treaba si caruia doresc sa ii multumesc pe aceasta cale), am mai avansat ceva.

Pana la urma piesa din interiorul air inlet-ului este facuta din aluminiu (dintr-un numar de inmatriculare) si are 2 urechiuse care sunt prinse cu surub de piesa "mama".
Spatiul din spatele ei este umplut cu adeziv pentru parbriz (la temperaturi mari nu curge).

Cam asa arata protectia pentru praf din spatele discului de frana (cu 3 gauri pentru prinderea air inlet-ului):

Daca vei merge cu masina asta preponderent pe circuit (si eventual pe drumul pina acolo) atunci ok, dar altfel ai vreun sistem de a opri bolovanii, glodul si molozul sa iti sodomizeze discurile? Vreun sistem de site usor accesibile pe care sa le poti da jos sa le cureti doar ridicind masina pe cric?

E posibil sa-ti trebuiasca asta si pe circuit, ca se poate intimpla sa iesi in bancul de nisip/pietris sau sa intre altul in fata ta.

Da da, daca vremea e foarte rece sau pur si simplu vreau sa "dezactivez" brake ducts-urile voi pune o piesa in fata lor (cred ca am si spus mai sus ca vreau sa le deactivez iarna).

Nu stiu daca mergi cu masina si iarna (de ex) dar pentru mine, dupa cum vezi e mai complicat (adevarul e ca imi si place sa ma complic).
Am vazut variante super simple cu furtun prins de proiectoare si apoi de fuzeta (fara aparatori), Dar nu vreau sa fac asa...

In alta ordine de idei, lucrul continua...

Air inlet-ul va fi vopsit negru pentru dar nu il vopsesc pana nu ajung la forma finala (mai trebuie decupat putin din el),
Am pus astfel air inlet-ul pentru ca in partea din stanga sa mai pot pune inca un air inlet pentru CAI (si pe cealalta parte pentru, poate, un radiator de ulei).

Miercuri am fixat noile aparatori de discuri si am legat brake ducts-urile de acestea

Au fost gasit si niste probleme:
1. Daca virez maxim dreapta, pe partea dreapta, furtunul atinge usor planetara. In mod normal nu e o problema mare pentru ca nu ma ma astept sa fie frecare mare mai ales ca merg cu max 5km/h cu rotile bracate la maxim dar voi mai pune un soricel pentru a rezolva problema.
2. Pe partea dreapta, colierul folosit pentru strangerea furtunului atinge senzorul de viteza. Dar avand in vedere ca ambele piese sunt fixe nu imi fac probleme (eventual trebuie sa verific sa nu stea senzorul tensionat).

Urmeaza sa atasez furtunul de grila fata. Piesele sunt 95% gata dar mai trebuies vopsite si date cu lac.
Daca vreamea tine cu mine duminca le montez.

Cam asa arata piesa "pentru iarna". Trebuie sa desfac un surub (unde e surubelnita) pentru a scoate aparatoare din fata gurii de aer:

Deci am terminat, urmeaza sa vad daca au vre-un efect pe pista.
Ca si concluzii:
1. e cam greu de gasit loc printre toate piesele (cam greu de strecurat furtunul printre planetara, brat, conducte de frane, etc).
2. prinderile de aparatoarea de praf si de grila de far sunt mai complicate dar am facut desene dupa piesele facute de mine si vi le pot trimite daca vreti).
3. sper sa se merite toata aceasta "bataie de cap", adica sa fie eficienta metoda de racire.

Totodata, sper ca acest topic sa foloseasca si altora care vor brake ducts (de aceea l-am si deschis)!

Foarte buna treaba ai facut!
Singura mea ingrijorare e, sa nu-ti atinga la denivelari/gropi. N-as vrea sa stiu ce se intampla daca se desprinde de la vibratii sau socuri.
Ai verificat distantele si cu masina lasata pe roti?

Da, clar am verificat...
La gropi nu pare are ce sa imi atinga pentru ca roata nu are cursa foarte mare... Si am verificat sa nu frece atat cu rotile pe sol cat si in aer.

Pentru cei care se gandesc la o asemnea modificare, cred ca un feedback ar fi de folos.
Din pacate un test obiectiv nu pot face (nu dispun de un laborator) dar ma gandesc ca orice feedback e mai bun decat niciunul...
Ei bine, pana acum, in ultimii 4 ani am fost de vreo 7 ori de Hungaroring (nu mai stiu exact)... De fiecare data am reusit sa fierb franele, intr-o mai mica sau mai mare masura. Ultima excursie a fost prima la care nu am avut nici o problema cu franele.
E drept ca vremea a fost mai rece decat deobicei, dar am mai prins vreme similara si atunci am avut probleme. In plus, acum, am facut de mai multe ori cate 2 sesiuni fara pauza (6 ture tari + 1 tura de racire + 6 ture tari). Dupa aceste sesiuni franele functionau perfect.
Avand in vedere ca setup-ul de frane e identic de vreo 2 ani (Etrieri Porsche Boxster 986, placute Pagid 4-4 Orange, discuti Brembo J Hooks). tind sa cred ca brake vents-urile au avut un rol...
Urmeaza sa imi schimb placutele deci nu stiu daca urmatoarele teste vor mai fi concludente (sau mai bine zis cel putin la fel de concludente ca acesta) dar daca apar schimbari in comportamentul brake ducts-urilor voi mai reveni cu feedback.

Cu ocazia ultimei vizite pe circuit (Hungaroring Octombrie 2013), colegul Stefan (Acidutzul) mi-a arat o problema la aceste brake ducts. Mai exact, datorita prinderii se poate sa atinga in surubul de la subcadru si, in timp, acesta va gauri furtunul:

Astfel ca m-am gandit sa fac inca un punct de prindere folosind acest surub.
Mi-am luat ceva piese de metal, air outlets si m-am apucat de treaba.

La fixare au mai fost necesare niste ajustari, respectiv mai trebuiau taiate piesele la dunga rosie (asta e just in case).

Dupa cum puteti vedea, am unit doua air outlet-uri si le-am fixat de un picior care avea gaura de prindere pentru subcadru.
Toate bune si frumoase, dar masuratorile erau facute "aprox" pentru ca nu aveam cum sa le fac pana la montaj. M-am tot uitat eu, am masura, am fotografiat si am facut dupa ureche.

Dupa cum puteti vedea mai jos, sunt niste probleme cu spatiul pentru fixarea furtunului catre aparatoarea de noroi (si, implicit, disc). Mai exact, furtunul ar urma sa atinga sway-bar-ul si nu sunt prea incantat de acest aspect, chiar daca sway-ul se misca foarte putin. Drept urmare, solutia de moment este sa fixez furtunul de racire numai cand ma duc pe pista (se prinde cu 2 coliere). O solutie eleganta ar fi sa mai fac o adaptare la aceasta adaptare (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) dar cel putin pentru Nurburgring nu e cazul. Voi incerca ceva elegant pe viitor pentru ca nu as vrea sa renunt la solutie.

Daca e sa ma imbat cu apa rece pot spune ca, chiar si asa, brake ducts-urile ar trebui sa aiba un rol prin aducerea aerului in contraaripa unde se creeaza o zona de presiune ridicata si astfel aerul este impins mai repede afara...

Te duce capul (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Probabil cu sway-uri stock nu mai aveai nicio problema (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . Sper sa nu mai ai si alte puncte de contact (eu aveam 2 pe o parte si 3 pe alta). Banuiesc ca pui furtunul pe Nring, nu? (ca te vad vorbind de zone cu presiune inalta)...
